The aim – to study the titer of cardiotropic autoantibodies in elderly patients with ischemic heart disease (IHD) depending on left ventricular systolic function.
Material and methods. We have examined 71 middle-aged patients, among them 45 subjects with IHD. All patients underwent high-resolution electrocardiography, study of heart rate variability, echocardiography. Levels of cardiotropic autoantibodies were analyzed with immunoenzyme method.
Results. It was shown that in elderly patients with IHD progression of heart failure is accompanied by systemic destructive changes in myocardium, as evidenced by an increase in cardiotropic autoantibodies titer. Decrease of heart rate variability, and predominance of sympathetic activity was more pronounced in patients with high titer of autoantibodies against myocardial β1-adrenoreceptors.
Conclusion. The results of the study suggest diagnostic importance of titrating autoantibodies against different myocardial structures in order to identify the features of cardiac muscle injury and adjust treatment.
