A.G. Kornatska, O.I. Mitchenko, O.V. Sopko Cardiovascular risk in patients with polycystic ovary syndrome.

The work is about cardiovascular risk of young reproductive age women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). The article shows that patients with PCOS require special attention of cardiologists as they have insulin
resistance, hyperinsulinemia and hyperandrogenism which lead to significant prevalence of cardiovascular risk factors including diabetes, hypertension, obesity, dyslipidemia compared with main population of comparable
age women. This multiple cardiovascular risk factors cause early emergence and rapid progression of cardiovascular disease and death of PCOS patients.
