The aim of the research was to assess obesity, lipid metabolism disorders, thyroid dysfunction and smoking in 85 patients with multiple coronary atherosclerosis before coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG). These patients were characterized by high prevalence of obesity (63.5 %) which was accompanied by abdominal obesity in 100 % cases. Metabolic syndrome was found in 98 % of cases, dyslipidemia – in 81.18 % patients. We found direct relationship between lipid metabolism and number of critically affected vessels. Most patients (93 %) did not take lipid-lowering therapy regularly. Manifest and subclinical hypothyroidism was detected in 8.24 % cases. Despite planned surgical treatment, 9.4 % were smoking at the time of inspection, while 31.8 % smoked before. Thus, detailed examination of patients with multivessel coronary atherosclerosis makes possible to detect unadjusted factors of cardiovascular risk before CABG.
