The authors analyzed 348 cases of patients with arterial hypertension and concomitant diseases older than 75 years which were treated in cardiology in-patient departments in 2011. The average age of patients was (82.5±5.2) years. Pharmaeconomical analysis of usage of antihypertensive medications was performed by cost – efficacy method. The economical evaluation of the combined antihypertensive therapy in the elderly patients is determined by ratio of its components’ cost to the treatment efficacy. Economic efficacy of the treatment of these patients is improved at including fixed combinations and clinically equivalent generic medications.
