The purpose of this work was to study the relation of basic parameters of intracardial hemodynamics and symmetry of the T wave of electrocardiogram in the phase space in patients with acute myocardial infarction.
Twenty one patient with acute transmural myocardial infarction (19 men, 2 women) were examined. All patients underwent simultaneously EchoCG and registration of phase space ECG. The index of symmetry of T-wave in
phase space was determined at initial state and after 2 and 5 min after sublingual nitroglycerin. The index of symmetry of the T wave in the phase space (ΒT) in patients with acute transmural myocardial infarction
decreased 2 minutes after nitroglycerin intake and increased above baseline values 5 min after nitroglycerin intake. There is a link between the mechanical function of the heart and T-wave symmetry of electrocardiogram
in phase space, i.e. improvement of myocardial contractility is combined with decreased symmetry of the T-wave, and worsening of contractility – with increased symmetry of the T-wave.
