Article represents data of the retrospective analysis of clinical-anamnestic characteristics and instrumental observations of 329 consecutive patients with ST-elevation myocardial infarction and with preserved left
ventricular systolic function, which have been hospitalized during first 24 hours from the development of the symptoms. Prognostic factors and causes of the acute heart failure (AHF) development are analyzed, as well as
efforts on its prevention. Early diagnosis of the acute heart failure manifestations and early aggressive treatment of this category of patients may improve short-term and long-term prognosis.
