The pilot registry of acute coronary syndromes (ACS) with ST segment elevation STIMUL is the first registry research in Ukraine including two-year observation. Our study aimed to examine the characteristics, the
management of ACS patients with ST-elevation and to compare adherence to guidelines. In a prospective survey conducted from January 2008 to June 2011 data describing characteristics, treatment, and outcome of
1103 ACS patients with ST segment elevation diagnosed in Vinnitsa and Chmelnitsky regions were collected. There was a high prevalence of hypertension (76.61%), obesity (32.0%), hyperlipidaemia (20.85%), smoking
(59.29%) and family history of coronary artery disease (31.82%). Among ACS patients with ST segment elevation, 21.49% received primary percutaneous coronary intervention, 8.43% – fibrinolytic therapy. So, the
rate of primary reperfusion in the central regions of Ukraine remains low. There was a large time delay from symptom onset to arrival at the emergency department. The in-hospital mortality of ACS patients with ST-segment elevation was 11.37%.
