Our study aimed to examine the long-term prognosis of 480 patients with Q-wave myocardial infarction (MI) and to compare their adherence to guidelines depending on age and gender differences in the Ukrainian registry STIMUL. In total, 140 pts (16.06 %) died during one year after MI. The mortality among men was 9.98 %, among women – 26.24 % (Р<0,001); among pts < 75 years it was 13.58 %, ≥ 75 years – 28.67 % (P<0,001). During one year 15.63 % persons sustained new non-fatal МI; this parameter did not depend significantly on gender of the patients (14.66 % and 19.39 % among men and women, accordingly). The study revealed relatively low use of treatment recommended in the guidelines, especially due to the social factors, high rate of cessation of prescribed medications, especially among women and pts ≥ 75 years. Non-adherence to medical treatments leads to more frequent development of the recurrent MI and death.
